Why the meetings are boring and uninspiring
by UnshackleTheChains ineach individual may have their own views as to why they feel the meetings are boring and uninspiring.
in my case i find the midweek meeting so, because of the constant emphasis on pitching watchtower literature.
its just monotonous and one big yawn.. i watch other christian faiths where they open up a chapter of the bible and discuss it's contents.

Do You Know Any “Gay” Jehovah’s Witnesses?
by minimus inof course the religion condemns homosexuality but did you know any gay witnesses?
i knew some bethelites that were very effeminate and i remember 4 women who were suspected of being lesbians by many in the congregation.
they eventually moved away and were very vocal against males, especially elders..

Women must not instruct men, even by singing a theocratic song.
by Ultimate Axiom ini did a quick search and this doesn’t appear to have been commented on here, but if it has been, i apologise in advance for starting an unnecessary thread.. regarding a change to a song title, the study article on page 7 paragraph 17 of november 2017 watchtower explained, “the change of the title “guard your heart” to “we guard our hearts” was most considerate.
in the audience at our meetings, assemblies, and conventions are many new ones, interested ones, young ones, and sisters who by singing the words would be put in the awkward position of telling others what to do.
so the title and the lyrics were modified.”.

Generation
by Jrjw inplease could someone explain to me what the generation thing i keep seeing in people's threads was that had lots of people leave the wts coz it was way before i became a witness.

basically..it means anyone born in say 1900 is in the same generation as anyone else born within their lifetime, say 80 years later. overlapping means the 80 year old--in 1980 overlaps within anyone born within the lifetime of the one born in 1980...so 80 years on we get to 2060, when the next overlapping generation begins.
i think..but then i'm not a dub.
the above explanation is subject to change, revision, nulite or whatever buzzword escapes from the watchtowers rectum.

Family Insists on Having Relationship with My Child -_-
by Cimarrona inhi gang, i'm a single mother of an 8 month old baby boy.
i've been df'd for over six years now.
my parents are super dubs and most of my siblings are dubs (on paper - a couple have been inactive my entire life but still claim to believe) with the exception of a brother who was never baptized.

Since leaving the JW Organization, who is believing?
by Issa ini left the jw organization last year during summer.
maybe some of you can relate.
who of you are agnostic or an atheist?
-
stan livedeath
atheist. i ceased any form of religious interest--and resigned as a jw. in 1971.
now--i couldnt give a toss where we all came from--how long ago--or where we are heading--armageddon man made or from god. theres not a damn thing i can do about it so i dont think about it. i will die one day--as we all will. if there is any form of afterlife--ok--i will wait and see. i will not be able to hold my breath though.

my 25 year anniversary of life after the WTS
by jookbeard inits been a hell of a journey and not one i regret, i've had my testimony featured in free minds, married divorced, married again had 2 children, survived a very serious illness and come out just about unscathed.
it all started sometime in the early 1990's around the time of the waco siege, i just couldn't accept these crazy doctrines anymore of the belief system i was born into, the death and destruction of billions, the big a, the restoring of the earth to a paradise and the even bigger lie of a resurrection of billions, come early 1993 i had decided to fade, i attended the memorial of that year and decided never ever to return and i never did, come 1994 i had really hit rock bottom, divorced the following year, moved away, started a new career, a new life, the rest they say is history, anyone reading this and having similar thoughts, go for it!
you wont regret it..

In 1971. When they brought in the elder arrangement?
yes--in fact the day i went to discuss it with the congregation servant--as it was known as then--h thanked me for letting him know---as he was in the process of compiling a list of recommendations for elders---and i was on it !!
so much for holy spirit. i was 23 years old--a former regular pioneer and mags / territory servant. i was due to give the public talk that afternoon..how could i be an elder jw--when i didnt believe in god--or any of the watchtower promises and predictions
